Gateway to IIT’s & NIT’s

The qualification of GATE gives a chance to the students to get admission in Masters in Technology (M.Tech.) or Masters of Engineering (M.E.) degree in their dream colleges lilke IIT’s, NIT’s, IIIT’s, PEC, Thapar, etc. and could enhance their knowledge with these most prestigious universities. The GATE score card remains valid for 3 years, which means you are eligible to take admission in Masters for 3 years.

M.E. / M.Tech. Scholarships

Even in Master in Engineering (M.E.) or Master of Technology (M.Tech.), the GATE qualified candidates get assistanceship of nearly Rs. 12000/- per month by MHRD.

Library Funds

GATE qualified students who are studying in universities that are affiliated by UGC or AICTE, get the grant of Rs. 5000/- per year as library fund. The library fund is given to the students pursuing their masters degree for the fulfillment of needs of their books, notes, research papers, etc.

Direct interviews in PSU’s

Almost all public sector organizations like IOCL, NTPC, NHPC, HPCL, GAIL, PGCIL, CONCOR, BHEL, BEL, MECON, DDA, BPCL, HPCL, HECL,BARC, etc. have updated their eligibility criteria of hiring by adding qualification of GATE exams by the candidates. So it is highly expected that even in upcoming years these organizations are going to strictly stick to the hiring process through GATE exam. If we look onto last years’ recruitment, the PSU’s have hired Management trainees, Executive trainees, etc. through GATE qualification only.

Career in Research

The candidates, who crack the GATE examination, become more likely to get the award of Research Fellowship (JRF) & Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) in CSIR Laboratories and under these fellowships one generally gets the stipend between Rs. 15000/- to Rs. 20000/-. Another most important benefit of cracking GATE exam is you get admission in Ph.d in any of the private or Govt. universities and could become a research scholar and the candidate will get stipend of Rs. 18000/- to 24000/- per month as well by AICTE or MHRD.

Govt. universities and colleges like PEC, Panjab University, IIT’s, NIT’s, Punjabi University, etc., also give weightage to GATE qualified candidates while hiring for teaching jobs. Now days most of the universities and colleges like Thapar University, Lovely Professional University, etc. have added the clause that the candidate must have qualified GATE exam before applying for the teaching post. And these educational organizations offer the salary packages of min. 5 lacs per annum and the candidates get the designation of Assistant Professor.
